Please don't be racist here. If you strongly agree with one side give the strengths of that side and not the "weak points" of the of the other side.

The republicans believe in a strong work ethic and don't look for hand outs to individuals. -- "Corporate Welfare" taking osme of the burden off those who are in best position to create new jobs only strengthens the economy and the nation.

The Democrats believe in "helping" those who have made repeated bad life decisions by giving them individual hand outs. Unfortunately, this does not show them where they'd made their mistakes and teach them not to make those same mistakes, it teaches them to sit and wait for the government to come and fix every little thing. Pretty soon, before you know it, you have a bunch of Katrina victims. No one was willing to help out their neighbor, instead, they resorted to lawless anarchy and animalism.
Republicans are strong on national defense. "Peace through superior firepower."
Democrats are big on foreign dependency. -- No oil wells off our pristine coasts! They'll spoil the view!
Shall I keep going? I suspect you're are smart enough to see on which side of the fence I stand.

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he

asked about his bill and the barber replies, "I cannot accept money

from you. I'm doing community service this week." The florist is

pleased and leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank

you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill

the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing

community service this week." The cop is happy and leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a thank you card

and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his

bill the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm

doing community service this week." The Republican is very happy and

leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card

and a dozen different books, such as "How to Improve Your Business" and

"Becoming More Successful."

Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his

bill the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm

doing community service this week." The Democrat is very happy and

leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen

Democrats lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between

left and right.

The differences are these. A Democrat, sometimes called a "liberal" is one who believes in spreading out the wealth of America to ALL it's "legal" citizens. They are called Liberal, because the word "liberal" means to give liberally to the people what is rightfully theirs as a citizen. Liberal means, they do not "hold back" from helping middle class people to attain an American standard of living--even if they are not rich. Republicans, are often referred to as "conservatives" ( to conserve or, hold back money from the middle class). Conservatives will often give money to the rich at the expense of the poor and the middle class. While Liberals try to reverse that trend by helping people who are in need. Conservative administrations (Republicans) are stricter in when it comes to giving money to the poor and middle class because they are said to favor the very wealthy. While Liberals (Democrats) it is said, are much more prone to discuss issues concerning the peoples needs. Truthfully, the Republicans often do not raise taxes, even tho they know taxes are needed to fix your highways and cities, often leaving them to deteriorate. When Democrats come into office, they are forced to raise the taxes that the Republicans refused to do in order to get and keep the voters. Democrats sometimes give money to the areas of civilization where it is required to maintain civilization. Republicans, being "conservative" will often "hold back" or refuse to play ball, or even talk to other nations concerning the peace process, which unfortunately often leads to war and death. Democrats, being liberal, are often more willing to "give in" and "talk" to those nations in a more rational (liberal) way.

Sweetbee has given a wonderful example. Another example is, a Republican values the lives of the unborn human baby. A democrat values the lives of the unborn baby seal.

Difference Between Republicans and Democrats

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and gave the homeless person fifty dollars.

Now you understand the difference between Republicans and Democrats

BTW I am a democrat. I thought this was quite funny. Democrats have a sense of humor and Republicans do not.

Racist? They're political parties, not races. Democrats have liberal leanings, being reformers, pro gun control, pro abortion, pro gay rights. Republicans have conservative leanings, being traditionalists, pro gun rights, pro life (in relation to abortion), and for state rights.
