My friend just had a baby girl and they named her Ramona Josephine, and they're going to call her Romy! I personally love it but WDYT?

Love it! Quirky and classic, complete with spunky-sweet nickname Romy (which I've always loved for Rosemary and Romilly, as well). ;) Just a great all-around choice! A rarity. ;)
Ps. Per the comment above mine, how is a name that hasn't even been IN the top 1000 most common choices for the last 20 years "too common?" ROFL I think someone's a tad confused. ;)

If the name Ramona has familial significance, then yes, it's a good name. Romy is a really cute nickname, but if the name Ramona holds no particular significance, I say they just should have named her Romy from the start.

I hate the name Ramona but love Romy...it is so cute....Ramona reminds me of the character from those Beverly Cleary books I used to read in 2nd and 3rd grade.......it seens kind of like and old name

I don't like it. I think of that movie Romy and Michelle.....and Ramona reminds me of that character from Beverly Cleary
