Depends how good the grass is! Most of mine will come to call, unless it is the height of spring and the grass is particularly tasty :) My daughter's pony only comes when she calls him, and totally ignores me.

My horse comes to me if she is hungry or really wants to see me. Yet, she is on 11 acres with creeks and paddocks and so, she is pretty busy. She has tons of companions out in the field and I see her all the time and so she does not miss me much! She does not come running usually, but ocasionally she will. She gets a lot of exercise, so she is not bored! LOL!

My cows come when I call them."Come onnnnn, girls!"
Nothing like a good cow call.
Honestly, the horses I've known/worked with/leased/ridden,only a few come in when called if they know it's time to work. They'll come right in at night for dinner and bed,but if someone calls them in the middle of the day for a ride, they have all mysteriously disappeared in the 7-8 acre pasture.Smart animals ;)

Prissy hears me coming out and usually is calling my name before I am calling hers. There is always somethingfor her to look forward to when I am coming. She may get a good grooming, a few treats, a nice ride or a long relaxing massage. Whatever the case may be she knows she is getting the attention she deserves and I get my therapy by being in her presence loving me for who I am and what I do for her and never complaining about it. :-)

If it's dinner time, he runs.
If he knows I don't have food but feels like being social, he waddles.

I have 3 . They all come to their names and they also come to a generic Here Boys". We've started training them to come to the sound of the van honking at them to save from yelling since I got a bad cold and was losing my voice. They are really very social
