Say why you love animals, and why you see them as valuable and what they mean to you. Have you had any previous experience? Talk about that if you have, or talk about the different sorts of experience you'd like to gain in the future. Explain your future aspirations; what sort of work do you want to do with animals eventually? Say what it is that makes this programme so special, and what makes you more the right person to be accepted. Say what you want to gain from the experience, and what you can give to them. Put your passion for animals onto the page :). Good luck.

Explain why you love animals. Speak of some experiences you've had with them. Give as many examples as you can think of. What was it that inspired you to make animals part of your life's work? Pretend like you're asking the question of someone else. What questions would you ask? Have you seen instances of animal cruelty, and want to work to abolish that? Have you had pets while you were growing up? If so, tell about them. I can think of a lot of things about animals, as I happen to be an advocate and lover of animals myself, especially cats.
Please note that a 500 word essay is only one and one-fourth of a typewritten page, and furthermore, you can't write an essay that only consists of one sentence. An essay expounds on and illustrates the subject you're writing about. Good luck!

500 words is approximately 5 paragraphs, so perhaps you could divide it up into sections about why you like animals, which animals you like in particular, how you came to realise you wanted to work in a zoo, what attracts you about this particular zoo, and maybe a bit about yourself and your interests and plans for the future? Just imagine that this program may get a lot of applicants, and this little essay can show some of your personality and make you stand out in their minds.
Good luck! :-)

Let me give you a hint: When you can't think of something off the bat, don't waste time with deep thinking. Make it up! Get the most interesting topic you can think of for being kind to someone (sending birthday/get well/happy anniversary/thinking of you cards, helping someone who is injured/sick, helping someone have a better life, etc.), and write about it. Begin with an introduction paragraph, and make it as interesting as possible so your audience will be instantly connected to your story. If you have a boring introduction, they are going to assume the story is boring as well. The next three paragraphs will explain your story. Also make these very detailed and descriptive. The last paragraph will be your concluding paragraph. This paragraph will tie up all the loose ends as well as resemble your intro paragraph (be careful to not copy it). Hope this helps! Also, if you need better words, use an online thesaurus to make your words sound smart and interesting. Use a web before you begin to write, so you can organize your ideas. When finished, re-read it yourself, make sure everything sounds right and is spelled right, and have someone else read it for extra insurance Hope this helps!

Just go nuts and talk about your love for animals and relate some stories from your life that would illustrate that love. Hey look, sometimes I have asked a question here, and we have a limit of, (what is it?) 500 words or something. That's never enough. If you're passionate, the words will come.

Explain why you love animals and why/how you want to work with them in detail. You could include past experiences with animals and what makes you a good candidate for that program. Once you get started, 500 words isn't that bad.

Perhaps this is a trick question and the correct answer is a single sentence. More likely you should give some examples demonstrating your love. This could be a test of your imagination/inventiveness. I am reminded of a pre PC answer to: "how long should the answer be?" Like a girl's skirt; long enough to cover the subject, short enough to make it interesting. If yo can convey your feelings in 200 well chosen words, that should be enough. In my opinion.

consider researching where this job could take you in life, the responsibilities you would enjoy... the new life, new career, the friends you could make ... the lives you could change, the animals you could help
you could talk about what first inspired you to want to WORK with animals,
I dont know i'm just trying to do some brainstorming for you.
lol brainstorm and then feed them tons of crap that they'll eat up. There are plenty of website online that will write essays for you :D

Good start!
Now elaborate and say why...What makes you love animals? It it because they're cute? because they seem to understand you? because you feel like you can understand them more than anyone else? something else?
Why do you want to work with them? What makes you think you'll be good at it, can you handle the good things as well as the bad? Do you think that it's a great place to make your mark on the world?
Just let them inside your head. If you're applying for this program than they probably already know that you think it's cool, and that you think you want to work with the animals...if you didn't, you wouldn't be applying.
Good luck!

actually you can write about what kind of contributions you would like to make and how you would like to see improvements on certain areas that you feel need to be worked on. But instead of just writing what these contributions are, also talk about how you're going to execute them. How you will use your time to manage different tasks, how you want to make a good example for the younger generation and be able to pursue others to provide good care for these animals. Write your lines, and explain everything between the lines. Good luck..
