Of course, the Kumbaya leftists will use this as more "proof" Israel is not interested in peace. Needless to say, they won't have any answer when asked if the Palestinians might not stand in the way of an agreement when they continue to kidnap Israelis, lob rockets into Israel, etc...
Call me crazy, but if I were the Israelis, I'd want to see a little symbol of good will on the part of those across the table from me.

pd: No, I'm an American, born and bred...and Catholic, if that matters to you. I'm also more of a Zionist than many Jews. Am Yisrael Chai!

I'm glad at least some of my fellow Americans understand my spiritual people's troubles. I am a U.S. Jew who is well studied in Torah (the law of moses). I've heard many people who refer to themselves as "anti-Zionists" who continually say that it is against Torah for Jews to claim the land of Israel. Well I infer otherwise besides the fact that they won the 7 day war against a hoard of other nations against singular alone Israel and Israel won. Today Israel has given back (The oil rich) Gaza Strip and the West Bank, that much like the U.S. giving Al-Queda Texas and Pennsylvania. What else must Israel do to appease Palestinian extremists? Israel has tried peace, moved their people out of homes and pulled their borders back so that Palestine would stop attacking and murdering Israeli civilians. And they still attack and call for the end of Israel. I hope the U.S. continues to support my spiritual country against cut throats and murderers.

Okay let's start from the beginning here. Of course the idea that only Israelis have any sense of reality is preposterous and offensive in and of itself.
I am no leftist but i am a realist. You can ignore the discrimination and and apartheid style laws practiced by Israel all you want but that does not give you any MORE of a sense of reality . In fact it gives you less. The idea that you are trying to promote seems to be that the Israelis are just innocent victims who never do anything wrong and everything the Palestinians claim is either false or irelevant.
Your statement that you are more of a Zionoist than most Jews is also telling. Clearly you have an agenda here. Your statements are biased and you openly admit that bias. Therefore I must take what you say with several grains of salt.
I hope this answers your question.

This coming from a guy with an avatar of a fascist.
Quite frankly the extremists on both sides of the issue (Palestinians and Israelis) need to be controlled by their governments. And, trust me when I say that Israel has it's fair share of Jewish extremists living in settlements today. Get rid of religion and all this war in the mid east would be over. Neither side of this issue seriously want peace if they are both willing to let the extremists on both sides determine the issue. Sorry, but THAT is the reality.

I'm not a Bush fan but I would say he is the only one in this case to have a sense of reality. He hasn't invested much hope or political capital in the peace process there because it is destined to fail. Neither side is serious about reaching peace.

For sure. Unilateral peace actions don't work unless the other side shows some sign of acting on those actions towards the benefit of both. The Israelis have a sense of reality, and many others do, it's just that a lot of people see the world through rosey lenses. They would rather see any country with any power trying to create peace unilaterally, yet they don't understand that many such actions have led to terrible international situations.
This is not to say peace shouldn't be reached. Peace must be reached. But unilateral action is only unilateral, helping one side with none of the detriments going away at all.
Btw, Am Yisrael Chai to you too, great spelling on that. (I'm Jewish, glad to hear you're involved)

No, and the Israelis are not the only ones with no sense of morality, either. Do you know how Mussolini treated Italian Jews? Now they salute his image on your avatar. It's called the "Stockholm Syndrome," when a prisoner identifies with his captors. The Israelis become more Hitlerian every day, using cluster bombs and land mines and quibbling over whether it's a violation of Geneva or not, after killing and maiming children with them. God left that land a long time ago.

The Israeli's have been burned by all the promises too many times by both the Palestinians and the U.S. I would be weary also to accept any deal without a little good will coming my way.
How can you trust a deal with a Muslim anyway when it is in the Qoran that they can legally and morally break a deal or treaty with the Infidel. They only make the deals and treaties to benefit themselves, why is it once they receive the promises granted to them they break the treaty and resume the rocket attacks on Israeli schools of all places.

Interesting that people like you think just the opposite when it comes to Americans who remained as danger approached them, known as Hurricane Katrina.
If they had any sense whatsover, they would give up that little land-locked Island, and find a safer place to call the promised land.

The Jews in Israel have any historic right to that land as the vast majority as Ashkenazim, rather than Sephardic. These "Jews" belong closer to Asia Minor than the Middle East.
Israel lost any right to say they were defending themselves in 1967. The Israelis are imperialists, supremacists and crazy haters; deal with it!

Israel has basically said time and again "We are willing to negotiate with you, but don't mess with us or we will kill you."
The people who really want peace get it. Egypt tried the military route with Israel, failed, agreed to peace, and now they are happy. Like you said, the people who show "good will" get it back. Nobody WANTS to fight; but the Israelis have been forced to all their life.
If the Palestinians wanted peace, they could have it. But they try to play the pity card ("Help us, UN, the Israelis are killing our children, poor us!" even though they never mention that they armed their children in the first place) and they try get the rest of the world to pressure Israel into giving in to their demands. However, in a test of wills I would not bet against Israel.
They've worked hard to get their land back and turn it into one of the best countries in the world, and they are not going to give it up just on some Palestianian nomad's say-so. They are locked in war, and they've come to realize that the rest of the world doesn't understand that.
