I have been on birth control for two months, and I hate getting my period. I have heard from numerous sources that you can just go straight on to the next pack after you finish one to avoid getting your period. Is this true? and is this okay for your body?

yes you can. all you do is skip taking the 4th week of pills(sugar pills) and move straight into your new pack. according to several medical websites i have researched, there is no medical need for your period every month, hence the invention of pills such as seasonale. i personally take ortho tricyclen lo and i skip periods all the time, just be sure that you have your period at least once every three months(4 times a year). good luck!

If you're gonna avoid your period, do it the right way and get the shot. OR you can ask your gyno about Seasonale, it's a pill that lets you only have 4 periods a year instead of 13. Besides, just because you move on to the next pack doesn't prevent you from having your period. I've tried already.

you can go straight to your next pack, but you should still have a period 4 times a year. there are some birth control pills that are taken continuously for 3 months. there are others that help you have a shorter period. be aware that sometimes when you take birth control continuously like that, you are more likely to have breakthrough bleeding, which should just be light and only last a couple of days. depo shots may cause you to not have a period or it can cause you to have very irregular and possibly have heavy and more frequent bleeding. talk to your doctor about your other options.

It's fine, I asked my gyno. Just skip the inactive week of pills & go right to teh active week. There is no medical reason that periods are necessary. Just you only should do it for 3 months at a time, no longer.

Can? Yes...

Should? Perhaps not... or they would be prescribed to be taken that way.

Talk to your doctor to get a medication created for this purpose instead of messing around with your body and the 21 day pills.

I certainly have been on desogen for a million twelve months and under my DR.'s supervision take them continuously so I pass the fairway tablets. you do no longer could desire to have a era jointly as on the tablets. the only purpose of having a era jointly as on the pill is to be sure you're no longer pregnant. that's no longer a real era that's a guy made era. Its a reaction to the shortcoming of hormones for the time of your sugar tablets

If you don't want your period, get on a different pill instead of going against what your prescription says to do!

You should also get the OK from your DOCTOR to skip the placebo week.

Try Lybrel, or Seasonique/Seasonale if you don't want your period that often.

I DO NOT recommend depo provera. Too many women suffer health issues because of it.
