Curly Putman was one of the best song writters in Nashville .wrote one of the greatest country songs
"The Green,Green Grass of Home".This has had the most success of any of his songs.

Curly just turned 77 in November. He's a great songwriter, responsible for such classics as "Blood Red and Going Down," "D-I-V-O-R-C-E" (although Bobby Braddock said Putman originally refused to take any credit for that song because all he did was suggest that Braddock slow the tempo of the song down a little), and "Green Green Grass of Home."
