It is when blood flow is restricted to your foot in Science class so it goes to sleep.

Alternately it is a forestry term for 1000 board feet of lumber.
1 board foot of lumber is 12 inches by 12 inches by 1 foot.

It's just 1000 board feet of lumber = 1000 x 1 ft x 1 ft x 1 inch
