Yes... I'm an optimist and believe it will miss the earth...
Actually, I would start selling asteriod insurance :-) I win either way.

Yep I'd go to work digging a fall-out shelter and picking up all the specials of non-perishables at the supermarket and heaps and heaps of water storage to stay underground for maybe 50 years or so??? Five years would be enough time to study what you needed to get and if they had space travel with public transport well you would buy a ticket to another planet????? You might need some inventive types to share the fall-out shelter with to come up with solutions to the many problems which would arise. But if you found out the comet was going to hit very very soon well yes stop work and get a good lookout point to view your last major catastrophe.

I'd probably have to work because I doubt my savings would last me 5 years. First on my least to do would be to kick President George W. Bush hard in the gonads, if he has any, shortly before the asteroid hit. That way, I could go out "satisfied". ****Oh...I would also make sure that I lived several thousand miles away from the guy on here that goes by the name "jmuffdiv..." because his comment made the hair on my butt stand straight up. That's never a good sign.

I would work until I had stockpiled enough money for five years worth of the best English ales and finest California wines.
And cheese. Don't forget the cheese.
(Fortunately, I already have Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" album on original vinyl, which deals with the subject in all its religious zealotry.)
Therefore, drink, munchies and tunes are already arranged. Stop in for a visit: the show should be spectacular, especially as it will be shown in ultimate Hi-Def. Leave your TiVo at home...)

For the first four years and then I would go crazy and spend all my money.
There isn't really an asteroid is there? I am only 13!

Depends on how long it took for anarchy to set in. Things will degenerate into chaos. There will be strong people who will band together for survival and take what they need from everyone else. It will be the Haves vs. the Have Nots. Who ya gonna call?

I won't belive it until about a month before it is set to strike... THEN I would stop working!

Have a good new year !

Yes I would. If I was going to die in five years I would like to live comfortably and have some fun before I die. I would need money for that. Plus, I'd rather do that than sit at home and cry lol.
