You see, when blue collar manufacturing demands more than white collar service, that is, when the grunts get more than the brains, the economy has no choice but to collapse. The whitecollar people need to earn enough money to pay off their collage loans. The bluecollar people who just do what they're told drain the companies dry when they and their unions demand unreasonable pay so they can't hire properly educated whitecollar people to make innovative designs. So our bluecollar jobs get sent overseas where companies can afford to pay them, and guess what, all the innovative designs are overseas too because they place far more value on education there than they do here.
