I cant connect to my brother online in a game any one have and suggestions to why i cant connect to him

I can play other people online we playing fight night round 3 we have no problem getting online and playing other people but when we try to fight each other it says connecting and failed to connect.

What game are you two trying to play ? Are there two PS2's ? Need more details please !
