Is it worth it.

I have stayed at the Straosphere before and I thought it was nice. The pool is on the roof which was cool. The room was good, as was the room service and gambling.
The only real draw back to staying there is that it is at the end of the strip. But, now you can walk to the Sahara and jump one the monorail to take you to the center of the strip or to the completely other end :) Very quick and not too expensive.
I like off beat places like Strat and Freemont Street Casinos, because you tend to win more or atleast play longer for your dollar and the comps are good.
I was married at the Flamingo and stayed there for a week. That was great all a round!
Tropicanna is good. They have indoor pool too which comes in real handy this time of year!
Hooters is good.
Riveria is fine, but not top notch.
To Sum up:
If you are looking for a discount stay for a good room & casino, then Stratosphere is great! I would stay there again 4sure:) Best of Luck 2ya out there!!! Hope this helped.

If those are your only 2 choices, I'd choose Stratosphere. It's a nice place, but in a pretty bad location. It IS closer to the strip though, and that's where all the action is. Golden Nugget is downtown, which is a fun place to hang out for a few hours, but not really the best part of Vegas to stay in. If your choices are strictly based on your budget, I'd look into the rates at Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana, and Imperial Palace. They aren't super nice places by any means, but they are usually pretty cheap and are in far better locations than either Golden Nugget or Strat.

I have once, It was pretty cool. I will say it's not full of the glitz and glamour that some of the other hotels have. But the rooms were neat and clean. I like the Palms, or the MGM, those are my favorite as I think the service is amazing at the MGM. Personally I don't think anyone can beat the service, and I'm all about the service.

Here is a link you may want to look into as it could help you with your travel plans to LV. Have fun!

My boyfriend and I stayed there once during July 4th week last year. They have nice rooms...kind of like mini suites with a living area separate from the bedroom. It was worth it for us..it only cost us $40/per night. It is at the end of the strip, so you're looking at walking or cabbing it to get to other casinos. If you're getting a real good deal, then it's worth it.

My family has and it is okay BUT it is not within walking distance to any other casino but the Sahara. Personally I find the casino small, crowded and dark and I live in Vegas
