When a bunch of primitive barbarians (the Mayans) fantasized that it would? I don't think so. When the current religion-du-jour's Sky Daddy sends his son Jeebus back? Nope.
If you want a real answer based on rational thought, then look to science. Our sun will swell up into a red giant in another 4-5 billion years, which will turn Earth into a cinder. Before that though, the sun's increasing heat will cause a halt to the carbon cycle, effectively ending all life on Earth in a bit over half a billion years from now.
Hopefully though, mankind's descendants will have long ago become an interplanetary species, making Earth's end just a sad footnote in our ongoing history.
