they have a very good chance of making the playoffs in '08!
Although they lost Aaron Rowand, they aquired 2 new outfielders which will be able to make up for most of Rowand's average performance. Although 3rd base is still very shakey, We have probably the most solid in field otherwise. With Utley Howard and Rollins, all MVP calliber players, an average player on third will not cause much of a problem. We have also improved our starting rotation as well as bull pen. With Myers back in the rotation, Hamels only continually getting better, and Kendrick coming off of his rookie year, our pitching should be better this year. Our bullpen is still going to be a problem but at least we have some new faces to show for it. Finally, the nationals are never too much competition. Both the Braves and Mets have lost key player and made no new trades or signing tofix the problem
Last year, the Phils got a little taste of what the Playoffs were like...they aren't going to let that feeling go easily. Lets see some play in October :)

the two the Marlins and the Braves have a good danger at catching Philly, and the two communities have been waiting to comb the Phillies at domicile this season. The Braves are purely a a million/2 game in the back of the Marlins, and did properly to take the sequence against the Dodgers this weekend. in the event that they could sustain their triumphing streaks, and the Phillies don't be waiting to precise their deliver quickly, you need to be sure a plenty tighter race for first interior the NL East. And as a Braves fan, i could like to be sure them back on precise of the branch back purely like i'm used to seeing with the aid of fact the ninety's.

of course! the mets haven't done anything expect get ten million catchers, and the braves well they added Tommy but hes getting old. Cole is just getting better and we will have Kendrick for the whole season this year unless he gets injured.a 3rd basemen will help though. but pitching would be our problem i think if we get off slow in 08.

I believe the Phillies will be in the mix again next year. I also believe you will see them make some trades before the start of the 2008 season.

With the mets in the division, as long as the season is ended in August they have a chance.

If they can upgrade their bullpen, I'd say yes. They have some great talent, but like the Mets and Braves, have some holes as well. One more solid, dependable arm in the pen would tip the scales in their favor.
