It would be good to make a survey in the neighborhood where you want to start your business. Ask people in the street the same thing that you asked here, online. It is more important what THEY think such shop should sell, because they are your potential customer, not what I would like to find there. As I live in Sweden I will probably not be your customer so soon (unless you expand very fast into international chain, you never know).

Important is to survey at least 100 people. You can wait for them outside the shop that sells items similar to those you want to sell. Tell to people coming out of there that you are making s small survey and ask them what did they just bought there, was there anything that they wanted/needed but was not available, etc. You will get valuable answers.

Wish you good luck and lot of success in your business! And if you take this advice please let me know how did it work for you.

Where are you going to sell?? Who do you want to sell to? How are they going to find out about you? What are you offering to ensure they buy from you instead of someone else?

You need to think about all these things and put a business plan together before you do anything. Most businesses aren't profitable for 2-5 years.

Personal opinion, I don't think that will be successful. It doesn't seem like it would draw enough people to make money. The real reason is that you can get that stuff too many places. Why would soemone go out of their way to buy from you? And things like webkinz are trendy. In a year no one will care about them (think beanie babies). Movie rentals- you compete with Blockbuster and Hollywood video. Most smaller video stores are out of business since they dominated the market.

Good luck- but I think you should consider another venture.

Do you believe this will be successful? If you answered yes then it will. The reason why is because you will not give up you will make it happen. Even on the days you do not think this will be profitable i should give up. These days happen so be ready and talk to other business owners they help to encourage you through these times. I am apart of the talkathomebusiness family and they have been very encouraging www.talkathomebusiness.com . If you answer no to this question then you probably will not be successful. The reason you do not believe in yourself that you can do this . It is all up to you it is your business so go with it the worst case scenario you learn as you business grows and become a successful business owner. This will take time and patients i am learning this with my business.

Yes, put your booth inside a mall with a lot of ( people ) traffic - particularly in the age bracket that would be interested in the products that you are selling.
