I'm just curious. Throughout my life my grandparents were always there for me. Unfortunately, both of my grandfather's are dead. So I spend time with my grandmothers. In fact, I went on several vacations recently with my maternal grandmother. On my 26th birthday I'm planning to take my her with me to Venice,Italy.

What a wonderful event you have planned. I hope your grand-
mother will be up to alot of walking. Sometimes, our knees
are the second thing to go or is it the third? First the eyes,
then the teeth and then the knees anyway, I think is how it
goes. I can only watch travel shows on tv now. And wish I
could have the get up and go to even go for walks now. So
I hope your grandma is up to a trip of that kind and has a
good pair of support shoes for doing alot of sight seeing on
foot. I'm sure she will love the experience and the scenery.
Maybe a trip to the wine country will help her recoop tho,
tasting some good fruity wine at a vineyard. I think I'd need
some pick me ups, along the way LOL. Take lots of pictures
and savor the memories. We all are here for such a short
while!

My grandchildren live about 5 minutes away from my apartment. I love seeing them as much as possible. You and your grandmother in Italy for your 26th birthday; what a wonderful way to celebrate. You are both lucky people to have each other.

I have ten. Two live on the opposite coast, I see them maybe once a year. Four live in another state, I rarely see them cause my daughter is mad at me for something she did. Three live in a neighboring town, I see them every week or so, and one lives just a ways away. I raised her for the first four years of her life and we are very close. She's in first grade this year. I pick her up from school everyday and we spend time together until her momma gets home. Sometimes we get together on the weekends too.

Mine live 400 miles away. Next month they will be moving another 800. 400 was a doable every few months before they entered school. 1200 is going to be different. We talk a lot on the phone and email. We are going to get a webcam. We are planning on a move, so it might be closer to them. They could get another promotion anytime though. My grandparents were present in my life.

two live about a 3 hrs drive away..spent a few days @ Christmas with them..the other one we have raised, he and his dad came home when he was 2..we decided it takes a village to raise a child so 17 years later they are still here. He now goes to the local college, and turned out to be about the most well adjusted person I know..He is helpful, respectful and can never do enough for us. We are lucky..

We live 3 hours apart so I can not see them as much as I might like.

I have one grandson that I see almost every weekend. He is the joy of my day! I am a full time working grandmother and fortunately I still have a life, so a day or so on the weekends is about all I have to give to him right now.

I only have the one grandson. I spend a lot of time with him. We are going to a model train show soon. We just came back from sliding down the snow. We enjoy Legs and Thomas the tank engine. Going to movies and the beach. I am introducing him to woodworking. He has is own work bench and smock. Likes making bird houses.

I want you to be MY grandaughter.
My GC are a 11 yr old boy who still loves to be hugged when no one is looking and a talkative little 5 yr old girl whose favorite phrase is "that's the way I like to do it"
Until I moved 10 miles east of them they were in my house constantly with their friends. I lived next door to their school. Now twice a week when they're bored they call me to talk or come get them. Sometimes I do.

Unfortunately, two of mine live in California and one in Dallas, and I live in Missouri, so no, not as often as I would like. My stepsons both have babies, one lives two hours away and one about 30 minutes, so we do see them quite often. Not really old enough yet for them to let anybody babysit, tho. Maybe in a year or so.

Due to location of two of my five grandchildren, I don't get to see them as often as I'd like. I do get to see my granddaughters whenever I want, because they're just fifteen minutes away. I call my two grandsons often, since I can't see them very often. It's not the same but it gives me a chance to talk to them & see what they're up to.
