Unfortunately, in some cases, PTSD can lead to violence (e.g., a person experiences a particularly intense flashback and inadvertently hurts someone in the course of attempting to defend themselves).

In most cases it does not lead to violence. In a court of law PTSD would not hold up in court for reason for guilt. What PTSD does cause is a lot of chaos and disruption in the person's personal life. For instance they might turn to drugs, alcohol or other women or men to cope with the agression . What they need is to talk with a counselor who specializes in PTSD and get on Anti-depression medication. Also, group therapy would help.

I would say it isn't common, but it's not impossible, either. I think it depends on the severity of the disorder, and what precipitated it- as well as other factors such as co-morbidity (simultaneous existence of) substance abuse or alcoholism or other mental disorders. One's level of functioning and adaptability, as well as the person's temperament may also be factors in whether or not one becomes violent. Most people who experience "flashbacks" with PTSD really are aware that they are mentally re-living past traumatic events, and can discern reality from mental flashbacks. Most are not delusional nor psychotic. Hence, most are not dangerous.

Yes. For example, Russian soldiers who served in Chechnya very often turn into violent criminals after they return home. I suspect the same is true about our soldiers who served in Iraq. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a dangerous thing.
