Grandma's Note Lyrics by Inside Out
I read a note my grandma wrote
back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat
And he showed once to me

He said now son you might not understand
But a long long time ago
Gandma's daddy didn't like me none
But i loved your grandma so

We had this crazy plan to meet
And run away together
Get married in the first town we came too and live forever
but nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet, instead
I found this letter, and this is what it said:

If you get there before i do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I dont know how long I'll be
But im not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
'Cause between now and then, till i see you again
I'll be loving you, love me

I read these words just hours before
My grandma passed away
In the doorway of the church where me and grandpa stop to pray
I know i've never seen him cry
In all my 15 years
but as he read these words to her
His eyes filled up with tears

If you get there before i do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I dont know how long I'll be
But im not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
'Cause between now and then, till i see you again
I'll be loving you, love me

If you get there before i do
Don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores are through
I dont know how long I'll be
But im not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
'Cause between now and then, till i see you again
I'll be loving you, love me

That is a really tough question!!! There are so many out there for me, but if I had to limit it to 3 I would say: ♥ How Do You Get That Lonley - Blaine Larsen "How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad To make you make the call, that havin' no life at all Is better than the life that you had How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go How do you get that lonely... and nobody knows" ♥ Little Girl - Adam Brand "Darling one day you will know Why it is that you must go Why tomorrow you will be So far away from me Maybe then we'll understand how easily The time between the sweetest love and bitter tears Can be measured in your tender years Some would say the world is lost In court rooms as the details Of the custody and court costs Are read aloud to the parties I believe my world is saved By a little girl watching her daddy shave" ♥ That'll Be Me - Gina Jeffreys "I`m writing you this letter to tell you goodbye Mummy and the doctors say its time Dont bring any flowers, you know I`d hate to see them die And dont you cry, I`ll always be with you. When you feel a hand on your shoulder Or a kiss out of thin air You hear your name and then turn around But there`s nobody there, that`ll be me If you see a star shining brightly for you And you`re making wishes and they`re coming true Know thaty i`ve put in a good word for you That`ll be me, That`ll be me. Time is sure to help you heart to mend You know this really doesnt mean the end They say friends are forever and i`m sure we`ll meet again But until then, i`m never far away." I ball pretty much everytime I hear any of these songs!!! I'm a sucker for sad ole country songs! Tough question, but makes me wanna go and listen to some of those songs now!

Any one where a poor innocent dog gets mowed down by a truck.

They're all sad, though, really. My mom used to listen to the country western station and turn it up loud every morning while she got ready for work.

I'd wake up crying every morning because all the songs were always so damn sad! Great way to start the morning!

(Riding with)Private Mallone by David Ball

Coat of Many Colours by Dolly Parton

Hello Darlin' by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.

It's a toss up however, I believe the first one should be the saddest one. Sorry for giving you three but perhaps folks may see them and help you pick although I am sure they have thought of some that I have forgotten about to be sure. My vote is Private Malone.

I think all country songs sang are about what a person is going through or has gone through. And if they ing it on a sad note then you know it involves pain so it has to be sad. So unless you are specific, then you would have to mention some songs you have heard and share it in here and ask with one do we think is the saddest. How's that. I think you should repost your question in a different way?!!!
