i am thinking that too, between 15-20, i love spongebob, and i have given this question thought. he is at least 15 because he lives on his own and pays his bills and is responsible, etc, but he is really naive and unworldly. So he wouldn't be older than 20, and he is like a lot of boys that age, wants to goof off and hang around with his friends, and he has a thing for Sandy and they went on that date and him and Patrick took those two chicks to dinner that once so that also fits in with that age, so I agree, 15-20 years old.

I think he's about 18-20. I mean he lives on his own and has a full time job. Maybe its different in Bikini bottom but here if you're 17 and under you can't be cook. Plus he was just attempting to get his drivers license on one episode. So thats why I say around 18-20! =] x

In a episode call no free rides his birthday can be seen on his learners permit, his birthday is July 14, 1986 making him 21 as of now.

He has to be at least 16, because he works flipping crabby patties. Spongebob and Patrick were competing for the employee of the month award, so they have to be late teens.

He isn't supposed to have an age, but he's in his late 20's
Since he smiles all the time, he looks young. If you smile a lot you look younger.
And just in case, hi best friend Patrick Star, is juuust a lil bit older, dont think he reaches 30 though.

Im not really sure why but thats just the way he comes off.
He has a job, a house, money and he doesnt live at home with his family. Why doesn't he have a girlfriend?
