Hello,

This is (name not used) from your Integrative Seminar Class last semester. The class took place on Monday and Wednesday from 8:00 - 10:00 am.
I have noticed that my mark stands at "Temporarily Incomplete" and I do not understand why. The semester has been over now for weeks and all my grades have been submitted by other teachers.I believe strongly that my final assignment was handed in as well as makeup work that was not completed properly at the beginning of the semester, we had discussed this earlier. Having said that, this was to be my final semester at Dawson College and I had been given a conditional acceptance to my next step of education. Unfortunately, the acceptance has been put on hold due to the fact that my Integrative Seminar Course remains at a below passing mark. The mark stands at Temporarily Incomplete and I thank you for giving me the time to continue to hand in assignments after the semester had ended rather than just giving me a failing mark, for that I t

I am asking for the chance to re-submit any assignment that you may have not received as I did complete them all. A couple weeks before the semester had ended, I still had to revise the final research paper and submit a practice bibliography. I do remember providing these however perhaps through an accidental mistake, the assignments were not received properly.

I understand the inconvenience in correcting a paper that should have been corrected some time ago however the inconvenience this has caused me by being rejected from an education institute because I have not completed the other one, or having to return to Dawson for one more semester is frustrating.

Please understand this has never happened to me before and has been worrying me since I saw the mark. I do hope we can resolve this and finalize my grade.

Thanking you in advance for addressing my concerns

Happy Holidays

You are making a lot of assumptions here that may not be true, and it comes off as accusatory. That usually does not go over very well. You got an incomplete, not an F, so the professor is already assuming that some remaining work can be turned in. You don't have to grovel for that.

You would do better to contact the professor and tell him/her that it is urgent that s/he get in touch with you. The grade is posted as "temporarily incomplete", and this has put your acceptance to ____ college on hold. You turned in all of the assignments for the class, so you are wondering what might be done to expedite the assignment of a final grade.

Your letter seems very professional. Depending on the prof, I would think you'd have a good shot of at least getting an answer. Do grades have to be submitted yet at your school? Some colleges don't have the deadline for grade submission until after the holiday break, so it might be wise to call the registar and see when the grades are due. Also, there is a chance that it is just backed up in the registrar's office.

Best of luck.

You defend yourself quite well... BUT it all depends on the relationship you had with that teacher during the semester, AND the quality of your work overall AND the availability of the teacher at this point.
It all boils down to if that teacher can trust you or not when you said you had submitted all the assignments. If there's a chance this is not true, don't even try to lie because if you are caught in a lie, then for SURE he/she will not give you another chance.
