I would put ten million in the bank, and live off the interest...as a fall back in case I lost all else. Then, I would give ten million to my church, and ten million to various charities directly. Then, I'd spend another ten million building apartment complexes to house the homeless, disaster victims, etc. I'd donate ten million to various schools....pre school through college. Then, I'd spend ten million on myself, and my family/friends...houses, cars, vacations, schooling, investments, etc. Then I'd spend ten million setting up some businesses to employ myself, and others. Then I'd spend ten million on buying/constructing south pacific islands, and another ten million on setting up a nation on the islands. The last ten million I would invest in precious gems, metals, stocks, etc, to create the national treasury. My new nation would show the rest of the world how to do things. Between the treasury, and the national building funds, I would have enough to set up national industries which would bring in enough income to keep the nation going. Those industries would range from internet sites, to casinos, to paparazzi proof hideaways for celebrities, and more. I would be king, and rule justly. Citizenships would be via certificate purchases, and could be revoked for criminal behavior, or such. Besides buying a certificate, citizens would have to earn the right to be citizens by: being law abiding, reaching certain educational levels, etc. I would leave a mark on the world.

If you just received 100 million dollars, like it fell from heaven, you won jack pot, the MOST important is to economize. It might sound funny to you, but there are many people who wasted their sudden fortune by not doing this important step - ECONOMIZE. They bought cars, houses, expensive things, etc, with no idea how much it cost to keep them run them maintain them. They started living in luxury on which they were not accustomed to, and lost their money very fast. So, be smart. You win 100 million - economize.
Then, you pay every bill you owe, pay back every penny that you ever borrowed from anybody. You owe 10$ to your grandmother? OK, pay it back. When you pay all the debts, think, but not just think. really work out where you want to invest remaining money. And then you have a chance of being rich.
Good luck!

Well, I don't believe that God would give a person that type of money unless he wanted it put to good use. So, as much as I'd like to keep that money, I'd have to choose to travel around the world and help the poor people. Besides, getting to see the world and seeing the smiles on people's faces wouldn't be half bad. But I would most likely do something like what Oprah Winfrey did. Use it not just to give out, but to make the world better. Give a person a fish and he eats one meal. Teach a person to fish and he can feed his family. And a recent update to this quote... Give a person a fish hatchery and he can employ the entire community So, let me put it to use in a way that will help a community become better.

interesting idea.
I would would invest about 500 thousand in a sound investment to make my life easy. I would then take the rest and start a couple charity organizations. One would be to make terminal childrens dreams come true (as much as possible)
I would sink a mill in each of the top illness's that plague the world.
I would start a couple of REAL retirement homes where only the best would be allowed to work to take care of the elderly.
I would start a few clinics around the country that give you actual service. and so on.

I'd quit my engineering job and buy an Alaska Heli ski operation, I'd put away about 10 million into a diverse set of investments including plenty of tangible assets like property and physical gold, then I'd donate the rest to my favorite charities.

Well, I would make sure that all my family is taken care of, give some to the church building fund and repair the road to the cementary. I would like to set up a homeless shelter for men, that I see standing on the side of the road and offer free day care to women who are in school that cant afford to go without that help.

Straight up I would pay off everything I owe. Buy my mom a house or whatever she wanted. Buy myself a house, give a bit to charity, and bank the rest and continue to work my full-time job.
