These things are taught at home, at the most basic, most elementary age.

Not new. A church that is true to the Bible is effective at not only tolerance but assistance of those who are less fortunate. Most food banks, homeless shelters and halfway houses are church-sponsored.

In a sense they are already supported by tax dollars in the form of being tax exempt and deducting contributions to them. The exemption was put in place because churches perform a public service of caring for the poor and improving the public morals.

The last thing anyone needs is another social program. Some people aren't tolerant of people not as well off as they are. We call them snobs. Always has happened, always will happen.
