Before you do anything you need to contact your local motorcycle governing authority to ask a few questions in regards to what classes you would be entitled to ride for your age group. You also need to find out if you have to have any hours of coaching in whatever country you are from. In Australia juniors need 5 hours coaching before they are entitled to obtain a race licence. You will most likely need to belong to a local motocross club before you can obtain a licence to race.
If you just go out and buy a bike you could well find out that the bike you purchased is not suitable for your age group and or class that you must race in.
Once you have all that information then you can think about getting a bike that suits your needs.
For your age I would probably go for a 125cc but if you are small you could race a 85cc or a 150cc. But the 85cc and 150 would only give you till you are 16 as then you have to go onto a 125cc or 250cc.
If you do join a local club there will be people who can advise you there as to what would best suit you and what the other kids are riding.
Have fun!

I assume you have at least ridden a dirt bike? Try racing in local races and see if you can win those first. Most competitors have been riding and racing since they were 3 or 4. Experience and practice is everything. Good luck.

the different answerer is giving good suggestion pointing out which you may desire to look up the close by golf equipment on your area and circulate alongside for a glance see. The bike you have isn't suitable to race and in case you needed a similar bike you may choose to circulate to the Crf150r as that's the race version. you may desire to look into if there are any women races which you would be able to enter in and what instructions are obtainable to women as i know mainstream racing once you turn sixteen you're no longer able to race the mini area and could want a 125cc or 250cc. What bike you get to race will depend upon once you're turning sixteen as there is not any factor getting a bike which you would be able to no longer race as quickly as you're that age. the excellent place to get each and every of the innovations you like is from the human beings on your close by area and club. have relaxing!

Go to your local dirt bike shop and try out some bikes, starting with the 50 cc bike, and if you think it's too small go up a level, and then when you think you can handle it just right, that is the bike for you. Be sure you are wearing protective gear when doing so.

It depends on how tall you are and how big you are. If you've never rode before and your a smaller guy i would go buy an yz 85 from a yamaha dealer. Also get a HELMET while your at it. You will also need chest protector, boots, jersey, pants, gloves, and goggles. It starts to add up to all of the gear you need to have will be about 300 dollars in all and thats if you buy the cheap stuff. Then a bike is 3200 dollars msrp.

It is really pretty simple. At 15 your are getting too old for the 85 class so you will need a 125 or 250F. I would highly recommend the 250F. The 250F is much easier for a new racer to perform well on. Don't take my word for it though. Go to some of your local tracks and see how few people are on 125's, there is a good reason for that. You local bike shop should be able to tell you where the local tracks are if you don't already know. Go watch a few races first before you try it yourself. You will start in the "lites" beginner class (AMA C class). I would really recommend just riding the open practice sessions several times before you run an actual race.
