Are you dependant on others in relation to your happiness.

No I am about as independent as they come, I don't rely on anyone or anything, I trust my own judgement and make my own decisions, but I do sometimes assimilate all the advice I can before doing so, to ensure the right moves if I am unsure.

Being this type of person, has not however stopped me from enjoying the love and friendship that I share with my family and friends.

I guess I rely on the car mechanic to fix my car if it breaks down (just thought of that).

Also my husband sort of taught me to take his help sometimes, and I must admit it is nice to have that happen now and again. He is the only person I respect enough to allow that to happen.

Complicated aren't we?

The 'yet' in your first sentence is confusing. Excluding everyone from all areas of your life doesn't make it surprising that you can't imagine depending on another for your happiness.

Being completely dependent on another person in a relationship (friendship, familial, romantic) for your happiness is never a good thing. In a mature relationship there is always a sharing of how dependent two people are for how happy they are hanging around each other. If there wasn’t a (partial) dependence on the other person for how happy you feel when you’re with them, it wouldn’t matter who you’re hanging out with. All people and interactions would make you equally as happy.

Because people do/do not get along with each other all the time, then yes there is dependence on some level toward other people for how happy your are/are not in a relationship.

Maybe. I am also very independent and know what I want but equally I can interact if needs be. Although I am very selective in all aspects of my life, those I love, I treasure and although I have known what it is to be alone and have coped, I would never want to be without those who have made many moments so special. So I guess, I am independent, depending on my life as it is.. Hope that makes sense, it does to me :)
