My birthday is June 21. Why on some horoscopes am I a Cancer, and on some a Gemini? Is it just the way some people do their readings?

You were born on a cusp. This means you have both traits of Gemini and Cancer. To find out your true sign you'll have to know your birth time and stuff like that. Then you'll have to either get a reading or do the calculations yourself. Hope this helps.

Were You Born on a Cusp?

Originally referred to as your Sun Sign, your Star Sign represents the Sign of the Zodiac that the Sun was in at the time of your birth. The Sun rules willpower and ego. It is the core of your potential and uniqueness as an individual; who you are and what you are about.

Your Sun Sign represents the main direction and focus you want your life to take and your determination to accomplish what you set out to do. It represents your personal honesty and integrity, your ability to command respect and authority and your capacity to impress and influence others.

If you are born on a Cusp, you will incorporate the energies of both Signs.

Here's the thing: every zodiac sign has its range of dates.....from when they begin to when they end. however, they slightly vary each year....for example, in some years, Capricorn will end on the 20th, while on others, it will end on the 19th. which in turn, changes the date when Aquarius begins, either on the 20th or the 21st of January. all of the signs will vary on dates by a day or two, depending on the year.

evey site, newspaper, magazine, book might have different dates for each sign(they vary only slightly, but still, it gets confusing for those born on a cusp). that is why it gets so confusing. we try to condense all the dates of each sign in order to make it easier; unfortunately, not everybody is on the same page when it comes to the dates of each sign.

so, the best way to find out YOUR sign?? do a chart! google (or yahoo, i prefer to yahoo lol) it up ("free birth charts"), and check it out! also, just remember that you are on the cusp(you were born between 2 signs basically).....not everybody is on the same page with cusp belief either.....so it is up to only you if you want to believe you are a cusper. personally, i do believe in cusps and i believe you are in one.

Have fun!!

They are based on solstices and equinoxes i guess.

These things happen on slightly different dates from one year to another.

And, they are / have been used to define the seasons in some cultures.
