Innocence does not lead you into getting taken advantage of...you let yourself get lead into being taken advantage of. The act of being taken advantage of on the most simplistic level requires two parties...you and another person. You must give this other person power to take you....if you don't give people this power they can never take you. From where I sit you come across as a weak victim...when in reality you let yourself get involved with this person and gave them the power for whatever reason. You can regain your personal power by never allowing a person to lead you again. The way to do this is to carefully anazlye each step of the way and really listen to people before you act...then make a decision, however even then, you may get taken but your chances will be minimized as you went in withyour eyes wide open.

Children because it honestly is the growing up that we all need. We can't come out knowing everything and besides I love children so much because they are innocent and kind and don't have to be burdened by all the evil world. Wouldn't it be great not to know some of the horrible things going on in the world.

I would like to know how innocence became a synonym for being unwise or even stupid. It is possible to be innocent and wise and safe (not taken advantage of).

If by innocence you mean "trust", then you need to remember that love and trust are two different things.

If you have a child or brother or father that is always stealing things, you're still obligated to love them, but that doesn't mean you have to give your trust to the untrustworthy.

innocence is needed as a control. without it, how would we know who has a dominant demeanor and who is vulnerable?
