My choice is the Houston Astros, since they are geographically closer to the West Coast and would be natural rivals with Colorado. What's your pick, and why?

If you are going to move one of the NL Central teams anywhere, it would have to be to the AL West. That division has only 4 teams and it would give balance to all of baseball. Not only would the Astros be an instant rival to the Rangers, it would make more sense travel wise and be in the best interest of baseball!

using fact "even form of communities in line with league" is so lots greater important, and handy, than "stability" is. Now, in the previous you pursue this everblack concept any greater advantageous, sit down and artwork out a functional complete-season time table, taking care to (a) shrink off days (could desire to greater healthful 162 video games right into a 183-day window), (b) plan no greater advantageous than one doubleheader in line with team, and (c) stay away from having interleague play on greater advantageous than 21 days. circulate forward, try this with 15 communities in line with league. attempt dividing 15 by utilising 2 and getting a maximum appropriate, integer consequence. problematic, huh? adjustments of this question could desire to be a lashing offense. BTW, in present day seasons, the Astros gained the NL customary (under the six team alignment) in 1998, 1999, and 2001, and likewise took the NL wildcard in 2004 and 2005. that's 5 playoff appearances interior the previous 10 seasons. study the different NL customary communities for the time of that factor: Cardinals -- six. Cubs -- 3. Brewers -- 0. Pirates -- 0. Reds -- 0. feels like the Astros are keeping their very own, and their living house branch isn't lots of an impediment. fulfillment is a longtime and obtainable threat for the team.

You don't move teams just for the sake of making a move, you do it for a reason. And right now there is no reason to move any team from the NL central to the NL west.

Move the Pirates to Portland, Oregon, and to the American League, to give all 6 divisions 5 teams each. Scheduling will be a pain in the rear, but who cares! We'll finally get those Yankees of the NL out of our hair for good and maybe somebody else can win besides Pittsburgh every year.
