Individualism is their greatest passion. In their pursuit of this they will restrict or condemn those who show some passion for the other five. They are the least passionate about popular sovereignty as anyone who has borne witness to the development of a Federal Wizard King over the last seven decades, to fill the role of the Chief Executive, can attest.

There are no 6 main components. The US does not have a democracy, the Founding Fathers abhorred democracy as the worst form of government devised by man. Democracy is 3 wolves and a sheep voting on dinner, or mob rule. The US government is supposed to be a representative republic, quite different from a democracy. Perhaps the first 10 amendments to the Constitution called the Bill of Rights, will help answer your question.
