you can go to jail for hitting ANYONE in the face once you are over 18!

I would hope so. Hitting someone anywhere, pg, woman or whatever, is not legal. Where have you been all of your life. Visit the jails, read the newspapers, watch TV. Do you see people hitting pg women, and getting medals?
And in the face?? Hitting is unexceptional on any part of the body, and an immature way to settle an argument. The violator usually goes to jail to grow up; sadly, he doesn't learn and re-offends. He loses, in the end, when he could have walked away and grown up, or taken a class on anger management before the judge ordered it.

What difference does it make if a woman is pregnant?
They should be going to jail for hitting someone in the face regardless of anything else.

Of course but that depends on the police and the Courts. If your frightened about this person going to jail just think how frightened you will be when he furthers the violence on you. And he will if given the opportunity. Once an animal always an animal. They beg and cry they are sorry but believe me it will happen again and now also there is a babies life in danger one that has no say and needs to be cared for and nurtured.

Well, I'd imagine that very much depends on the jurisdiction, your relationship to the woman and what you hit her with...
For example, if you were in Afghanistan and you hit the pregnant woman, who was your unwed sister, with a stone, you would be commended for protecting your family honor.
If you were in Italy, the woman was your girlfriend, you hit her with your fist, and her family was La Cosa Nostra, her brothers would probably kill you before the police could get to you.
If you were in Siberia, and the woman was some random person in exile and you hit her with a snowball, and no one saw the act... (you know, kind of like if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear, does it still make a sound?)

Yes you can go to jail for hitting a pregnant women in the face or a non pregnant women. Its called assault and battery and is against the law. It is against the law to strike another person period. Violence against women is never ok. Even if it is woman on women violence.

Someone can go to jail for hitting ANY woman OR man in the face, and if a pregnant woman's fetus is harmed, that's assault charges on TWO.

Anyone can got to jail for assault. Other factors come into play as well, like having prior offenses, or whether that person was your significant other. And if the judge discovers the victim was pregnant he may do what he can to make sure the offender suffers.

in the United States? yes, if somebody hits someone else in the face, they would go to jail for battery.
however, if no one reports the incident to the police, then it is likely that the assailant will get away (unless that person turns them self in)
if someone is abusing you, get help. talk to a parent, friend, minister, doctor, teacher, whatever it takes hun! don't put up with it!
