After the collapse of the Wiemar Republic , Germany fell into anarchy where The Brown Shirts (Freicorps) , the Communists and rival militias took to the streets in open revolt against not just one another but with the government itself .
If you as a common German citizen saw a restoration of order , ignoring the concentration camp systems set up by Eicke , you would see A.H. as a leader(fuerher) who could bring order and stabilize the nation and produce an atmosphere conducive to the transactions of business .
The middle class were the first to realize that becoming a member of the NSDAP was necessary for promotion and pay raises .
As a common member of the German citizenry saw how A.H. reversed the Treaty of Versailles ,which most saw as humiliating , the recovery of The Sudetenland and the Wehrmacht rearm in direct contravention of the Treaty , peace on the streets of most every city and we can see clearly why the middle class supported A.H. and why the financial powers came to support him was because , naturally ,Bolshevism promoted the removal of private property and giving it away to the people ( state ) and this was unacceptable to "owners of the means of production ".
I hope this , with other answerers , will be of benefit to you .

Germany was suffering from severe economic problems. They were experiencing hyper-inflaction and high unemployment. Never-the-less, like the current fascist leader in the U.S., Hitler was not elected by the general public.
The definitive book on Nazi Germany is The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer.

According to the shows I have watched on the history channel it was for the same reason that people originally backed G W Bush, Security and Jobs. The fact that he was a charismatic speaker helped but his platform was Security, Jobs and rebuilding Germany's honor. If it sounds familiar just change Germany to the USA and it fits G W Bush's platform.
