I don't know. For some reason, people like to give
twins "twin sounding" names, either starting with the same letter or rhyming. I'm not really into that, though, because twins are 2 seperate people and should have their own identities and their "own" names. Personally, i would've gone for Kailie Leeann and Deann MiKayla because they still sound like twin names, but are different enough to sound like 2 individual names. But Kailie Leeann and MiKayla Deann are still very pretty names on their own, though, and they don't sound that bad together.

Because parents of twins incorrectly assume that lacking the creativity -- or simple willingness to put forth the time and energy -- to actually name TWO children somehow makes them that much MORE "creative." LOL Unfortunate, but true. :(

And in the end, most twins end up feeling cheated out of the right to their own identity, as you seem to be demonstrating now. It really is a shame. And I assure you ... I'd never purposefully throw away the opportunity to choose two distinctly special names for each of my twins. They are, after all, two very-different people. ;)

Because they thought it was cute

Kailie and Mikayla is not that bad
I went to school with Anna and Anne, named after their grandmothers
Most people would Use one for both, but their parents, went for both

If you have Twins will the be Sarah and Victoria? or something like that

because parents think it is cute to name their kids with similar names when they are pregnant. I think it is confusing and stupid. As if you didn't get confused for the other person enough as it is, you now get to have very similar names!

Its like Sarah and Clara...

Sorry to sound rude. I didn't mean my answer in a rude way, just how i feel. I'm LeeAnn too :-)

Because people think it's cute to give twins "matchy" names, when in actuality it's the farthest thing from it..... I actually knew twins named Christopher and Christina, and they went by Chris and Chris.... so sad, too true.

I don't know why some parents do this. I am glad that my parents named myself and my twin totally different names. I guess some people think it is cute.

Because some parents seem to think that twins need matchy sounding names. Cruel if you ask me.

Maybe they only liked one name and decided to use a variation of it for both of you.

I know siblings called Alexander and Alexandra. They aren't twins but that's kind of silly.
