no it's not an oxymoronic term. it encompasses, some ballads of real head banger groups and some pop groups that will kind of crank it up a bit.

Soft rock is certainly an oxymoron if you live in Blackpool...
Though it IS a selling point for Edinburgh rock.

No. Soft rock is hard to be defined by anything else. It’s like rock, but a little softer.

It isn't,"Rock", It is maybe just lounge music at best. Nothing really wrong with it, we can't only rock and roll all the time, that's Dog, but we also need some Butterfly.
