If you are within your subscription period and this is not merely a reminder to renew, you should consider the possibility that malware has tampered with your antivirus.Indeed it may now be totally ineffective. To establish that your system is clean or otherwise I would suggest a full online scan. This scan is free and safe.TrendMicro are a well respected company in the security field.Your next course of action is,of course, totally dependent on the result of the scan.Good luck!!http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Look at the shield near your clock. Right click it & press exit. Click the shield icon on your desktop. It should refresh it. The shield exiting doesn't turn off your Norton anti virus. I think the whole problem may be because you don't have or don't need a password for Live Update.

Why dont you set it for automatic updates saves the hassle.
Norton is expensive rubbish, get free avg. Meantime just open it from your desktop icon & run for updates. There arent always updates available everyday.

please bin norton.
it really is rubbish at detecting viruses

you would be better of getting shot of it and getting something a bit better like kaspersky

even avira which is free and avg are better than norton

try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it, it sounds like a glitch and reinstalling it should fix it
