The pyramid rooms are cool with tall windows on the slanted part of the pyramid. The Luxor is undergoing a lot of changes right now and the rooms in the pyramid need to be remodeled and updated. They are fine but look a little worn.
The rooms all have hairdryers and irons. The inclinators are interesting - think slanted elevator. I personally think the tower rooms are nicer but they can be a long walk to the casino.

I stayed at the luxor when I went for my 21st, I didn't notice any problems. I'm sure you could nitpick one hotel vs. another since there are sooo many there, but I didn't notice anything negative. (except because of the design I got lost a lot in the casino are trying to find my way to my elevator and out...but that's not something that is going to ruin someones experience trust me)....It is at the far end of the strip but that doesn't matter, it's connected on the inside with a path to mandalay bay, and you can walk over to exaclibur. There are many hotels walking distance on the strip. Depending on what you want to do you can always take a cab (which is not too expensive) to the other end of the strip. They also have the tram. Your daughter won't be trapped inside of the hotel, she'll probably want to get out and go all over, and as far as I noticed I had no complaints.

My husband's tatoo artist did and he said that it sucked!
You are better off staying in a tower room or a completely different casino!!
I have staye at many of the others (over 100visits 2date) and have never heard good about the pyramid rooms. If you are looking for a cheap room there are other options....
It depends on when you are looking to go and how soon you book. I really like Flamingo, Tropicana (indoor pool), Hooters, and for my ceaper visits....Freemont Street.
Personally, I would not stay at the Luxor in the Pyramid rooms untill they redid them, but that is completely up to you.
I have always wanted to stay at the Mandalay Bay, but way 2expensive!
Who knows?? Try it. If nothing else, it is an experience to compare future visits to.....right?
Anyways there is soooo much to do in Vegas that the room is really just a bed.
Best of luck to ya!!!

We stayed shortly after they opened. There is NO fridge, but a blow dryer in the bathroom. The rooms are cool with the sloped windows, just get on with a view! And wait until you take the slow ride up the elevator on railroad tracks; really. Once up, look over the pony wall down into the casino

I was there about a week ago, I wasn't impressed. There was a fridge and a blow dryer in the room, but it was nothing special at all.
Also, the inclinator setup is just stupid. There's only one per floor, so if your room is far away from the inclinator, have fun lugging your stuff halfway across the casino.
