fear of freedom
fear of happiness

Humans like to be free themselves, but don't like other people being free. We also like our gov't safety nets, which require the forceful collection of wages (taxes) to pay for them.
Many humans also like to have power over others. The usual expression of this is the bureaucrat, whose entire purpose is to regulate. Do this a certain way, don't do that, etc. The very fact that people feel that gov't legislators have to always be legislating _something_ (or else they're not doing their jobs) says a lot about us.
I like to think that mankind will eventually mature enough as a species to not have any need for governments, but I know that's not going to happen anytime soon. The concept of gov't is too strongly indoctrinated into our psyches. Well until then, I'm voting libertarian!

The world is free. We the individuals decide on the right, or the wrong. That is our freedom whether it is in a democracy, oligarchy, tyranny, or a socialist country. We are still free to decide what is right and what is wrong.

The world is free - with different degrees of freedom but there is freedom. Proof? The fact that you're posing that question - thank God you're free to ask it!

Everything? Money? Food? Medicine? All the things that cost other people money should be free to you?
That is collectivism. Read refutations of Marx if you want to know why "everything is not free?"

if cars, TVs, ect.., were all free, who would build them for free?
no one would work and we would all eventually die. no one would be making vaccines, or even cough medicine. there would be no doctors so no one would be able to have surgery
no more homes would be built, and the ones we do have wouldnt have electricity or heat, we would freeze. there are millions of factors why the world isn't free.
this is the dumbest question i have seen all day

Simply -- we have not evolved spiritually enough yet. We all have to get there together before that can happen.
