They decided that a woman has the right to privacy of her own body.

Back then abortion was illegal in many states. Up till then, many women died as a result of "kitchen table abortions performed by non-medical people".
This decision said that a woman had the right to have an abortion if she wanted one. The state could not stop her and it could not make it illegal for a doctor to perform one.

That the federal government cannot regulate or restrict abortion. The issue is up to each state individually to decide.
