YES.if you start your next pack imediatly as you finish the prevoius pack then you will not have a period. its called 'running your pill' you shouldn't do it all the time but is handing for holidays and special occasssions- wink wink.
but you must start it straight away and not when your period is due to start otherwise you can muck up the cycle and may not be fully protected if you have done this you will probably stop bleeding but should use condoms to be safe.

STOP LISTENING TO THESE OTHER COMMENTS, it will not damage you at all , they are trying to scare you it is fine to run the pill occassionaly, my doctor has even told me too, especially handy if you have a smear coming up etc. it will not hurt you to do it occasssionally and it WILL stop your period and next month if you have a break in the pack your period will return as normal. hope this helps dispell these myths. you can even check on the national health service website, they also say you can do it!

You can't start a new pack midway between your off week and then stop after only a few days. You'll screw your cycle up terribly. If you hate getting your period, talk to your gyn about a different pill like seasonique where you get it only a few times a year or Lybrel, which stops it all together. Are you on the pill now? If you are, this should not have been a surprise, anyway. Women on the pill know when their period is coming - it's one of the perks of taking it.

Pill That Stops Your Period

2016-11-08 03:13:21 · answer #3 · answered by sernas 4 · 0 0

You should not take the pill during your menstrual cycle. This is why there are sugar pills to take during that time frame.

Taking the pill is adding hormones to your system making it believe there is a pregnancy going on. This is how you are able to regulate your monthly cycle. If you keep taking the pill to stop your period you will eventually cause damage to your female organs. Having your cycle is your bodies way of cleaning its self out and preparing for the next month.

The comment that you will only not have a period unless you are pregnant is not true. Women that are very physically active will stop having periods. If this happens there is something wrong and you should see your OB/GYN as soon as possible.

Do not risk your health by continuing putting hormones into your body that it does not need. This is asking for health problems. However if you have other concerns and reasons for wanting to do this please consult with your doctor first. They truly are they only ones that can tell you what will happen without leading you down the wrong direction.

Hope this helps

If you're talking about long-term, no, you will get a period every month unless you go right to the next packet. It'll likely be shorter & lighter though.

If you're saying starting the pill mid-period or on day 1, no it will not stop it. I had the same q when I started bc a few weeks ago & I thought the active pill would stop my period. Wrong! It actually lasted 11 days & was super heavy!!!! good luck

No, it will prolong it. The whole point of being on the pill, is that when you stop it for 7 days, then you get your period during that time. When i first went on the pill, i didn't do it properly, i took it during my period, and i was still getting bleeding for weeks after.

If you do not know how to use this product, you need to talk to your doctor.

If it stops it completely, it's too strong. Different bodies react different ways. Each period can be different in the same body. Different pills react to your body different ways. Some good, some bad. That's why a doctor prescribes them.
peace

I tried it before although it's not healthy to play with the hormones like that...It takes a few days, but it will stop.
It all depends on your body. You may experience a headache.
I took two or three of the pills in one day which is bad. It stopped immediately (Within hours) that way. They say not to double up, but It stopped.

NO.
I was away once and because I wasn't in my normal routine I forgot to take my pill for three days straight. I ended up getting my period because of it. I took the pills then, and continued to take one every day but it did not stop.

There is no way to stop your period from coming on NYE this late. You should have talked to your doctor months ago.
