6 hours? That's long. Don't use the recovery Cd just yet. Windows has a self-recovery built-in. Probably something the windows updated that's messing up. Try booting in safe mode first. Un-install all other un-necessary softwares, especially the latest installed ones. If that still won't let you boot normally, try restoring your last known good configuration by pressing F8 many times when you power on. a menu will let you choose, "boot in last known good configuration". Select that then let it do its work. Good luck! (n_n)

OK if you want to use the restore cd you first have to change the boot priority. You do this when pc is starting up by hitting either f8 or delete, could be a different key depending on the manufacturer, keep a look out at the bottom of the screen for whatever key to press that will take you into the bios. Once you have accessed the bios if you go to the advanced options tab you should see the option to change which drive the pc will read from first, it will usually be set to the hard drive as default so you have to change it to boot from your cd/dvd drive first. Once you have done that exit the bios and save changes, then put the recovery cd in the drive and restart the pc. You should then get the message at bottom of screen to 'press any key to boot from cd' press any key and hey presto this will start to install windows for you, all you have to do then is follow the on screen instructions.
