This asshole decided he didn't want to answer my question because my look didn't fit the label.
Okay first off it's stupid to follow trends. Honestly, weather you want to admit it or not, you are following a trend. Just because I may not look gothic doesn't mean that I can't listen to the music. I like the clothes and everything...it's just I come from a religious family and I can't be exactly who I want to be. Even if I could dress that way I'm not too sure I would. I just like to be me. If I like it I wear it. My wardrobe consists of band t's and jeans.
I'm not trying to be everyone else. I wear color on my eyes because I found out having all black on them makes my eyes disappear. Honestly, if you want to judge me then go for it. I can't stop you. Before you try though, you should at LEAST know a little about me.
Why don't the world just forget about the whole label thing and listen to whatever music they want and dress the way they want?

It just kinda pisses me off that someone would make accusations by the way I look. It's not a fear. Trust me I'm more in-depth than that. My grandpa would be a little disappointed if i started looking any weirder than I already do. He would probably be even more disappointed if he knew I don't believe in his god. A picture of my face could not possibly give anyone a sense of my style anyways. I'm not another mindless idiot following the in crowd. I'm from a small town. I WAS voted most unique. I also get picked on for being a devil worshiping goth. Even though I am not either. I just kinda get judged that way because I mostly wear black. Small town people don't know what someone who would be considerd a goth looks like. Anyways. I was kinda making that to say it shouldn't matter how you look or anything, you should be able to listen to whatever music you want.

And to that one guy or girl or whatever You're extremely closed-minded. Just because you strive to freak people out don't mean you have to make idiotic judgments like that. I happen to hang out with a lot of "goths." Mind you, they are graduated from high school. Anyways. I'm through.

Is that your biggest fear? Having people judge you. Labels don't mean anything. The way you dress is your own style. Not being "gothic" or any other thing. You are yourself, no matter what. Never let people try to change you, you should like what you want. Do things that you want. Just because you come from a religious family that doesn't mean you should not be yourself. If your family loves you, and I bet they do they don't care what you do. As long as it makes you happy. Never let people decide things for you, tell them straight up how you feel.
The way someone dresses doesn't define them. The type of music someone listens to doesn't create the person who they are. People who judge others are insecure about themselves.
You're just misunderstood. People don't know the real you, they just assume characteristics about you.

Look I'm not gonna say this is the best advice You will ever get or anything but I will tell You straight out
Screw the World..screw what people think about You....just take all that crap and roll it up and toss it in the nearest ocean
You don't need anydamnbody's approval to validate who You are.
I went through all the same crap all My life because I have long hair and tattoos and come from Kentucky..People look at Me and label Me "Ignorant Redneck"
Well this ignorant redneck doesn't lack much of having a Doctorate
One of My biggest pleasures in life is to see the looks of astonishment on people's faces when they find out who i really am and what I really do.
i love being a stereotype breaker
So that's my advice to you..take people's silly stupid misconceptions about You and turn them inside out
And live your life for yourself
Sorry about the essay...stereotyping makes Me angry
And on the subject of following trends
The majority of people are baaaing sheep who will follow the nearest lemming off the nearest cliff.

You realize looking goth is conforming to non-conformity right? Your wearing the "uniform" of a goth. I'm not really one to talk, because when I was in high school I was a "crust punk" with the electric blue liberty spiked mohawk, studs, patches, bondage belt, and the whole nine yards.
Basically I'm saying, you are free to play dress-up all you want. Everybody has done it. Your not the first. You may be surprised to know that people know a lot more about you than you may think. You'll realize it as you get older.

Hey best friend. : ) I'm answering your question.
What's wrong with people is ignorance. If you don't agree with something, it's automatically wrong. Or in their eyes it is, at least. It's honestly nothing you should pay attention to, really. You know who you are and that's all that matters.
Everyone in this world is going to judge at some point or another, and to what extremes they take is a whole different level. Bypassing someone with this amount of ignorance shouldn't be that hard either.
Someone with an incredibly (sp) narrow mind is better off in the cruel "real" world, if there really is one. One day they will realize, and it will slap them in the face harder than most of us who are writing completely against this mother effer. :)
Just chill.
Forget it, and don't waste your time thinking about it. : ) it's completely pointless.

Hey, I know how you feel. I'm 46, and I if I express my sense of humor in my t-shirts, people assume that Jesus really is my homeboy. (In my case it's my age--after 40, people assume you have been beaten into the main stream.)
You just can't worry about what people think. Most people suck, anyway. People who get hung up on that sort of thing are usually the ones who are trying hardest to "fit in" and what a bore that must be.

Just stop worrying about it. If people exclude you from a group, or label someone, it might be because they feel like they need to be in a group themselves so they don't feel lonely I guess. And they don't want just anyone to be compared to them because they want to be an individual.
It's one of those questions that can't really be answered too well, and doesn't need to be. Another question would be "why do people care about people labeling people?" It's inevitable, you can't really stop it. Just ignore it all.

You're conforming by non-conforming. People can dress however they want. Follow the latest trend, I don't care...but just be honest in that you aren't original. I'll even admit I follow a certain trend to fit in with the people I want to fit in with...but that's a part of life. It has always been.

People want to feel above others and labels are one way to try to get there. I've had this same stupid problem, but I've just grown not to care. I am who I am, and if someone has a problem with it, they aren't worth my time.
