I get the feeling my family is retarded but lets see what you think.
For the last two weeks, ever since my college semester ended, i have drank just about every night. However, except for maybe three times, where i have been drunk, it has been one or two beers because i like the taste. I'm like 190 pounds, so one beer isn't going to affect me at all.
However, my family is acting like i have a severe drinking problem. My dad accused me of being at a bar at like 1:00 yesterday afternoon, while had been out snowboarding. My brother and mom say i have been drinking heavily and that i might be an alcoholic. Does having one beer a night for two weeks in a row really count as being an alcoholic?
And yes, i am over 21.

yes you can be an alcoholic with only a beer a day. If you can't function without that beer or if drinking that beer is the only thing on your mind all day long or if you can't go a few days without that beer than yes you are an alcoholic.
I have to warn you however that you are on the road to drinking more than one or two a day. Blackouts aren't fun...especially when you find out that you do things that normally won't do sober. Put the beer away now while you can without help and tell your family to lighten up.

NO. True alcoholics can not function without alcohol. Also, usually they can not hold a job or keep a family together or maintain any other type of relationship. A few beers every now and then is NOT an alcoholic, an alcoholic drinks excessively every single day, denies it, and can not hold a job (MOST of the time) or keep any type of relationship going. Sometimes they are violent, sometimes mellow and happy...depends upon the person.

What would make you an alcoholic is if you need to have that beer every day.
Try to have fun for a whole month without drinking and then you'll have your answer.

It's not really the amount you drink, it's how much you think you NEED it.
I need wine every third or fourth night, and especially on weekends, so that makes ME an alcoholic.
It doesn't sound like you are, though.

omg your family is tarded, if you are mexican like me, you drink 2 beers at noon, wait for your blood alcohol to lower, and drink two more but not get drunk,
if you are not getting drunk then you don't have a problem

You sound like what they call a problem drinker which means if you don't slow down you could turn into an alcoholic in the future.
