I just replaced one after 3 years or so. The transmitters generate a lot of heat. It helps to place the router in an area that's not to warm. Put it in a place that allows air to circulate around it (don't put in a cabinet or small bookshelf. Also, use power strips with surge protection of the router and the AC connection for anything hooped to the router (PC, etc.).

All of them last about 3 years give or take if you leave them on all the time.

Mine lasted 4 years, but got a tad slow and wouldn't connect fast in the last yr.
