It's quite simple. It's because they themselves (those who say such things) find that if they were to support each other they would be called racist for doing so. When in fact, "they" can support each other all they want. Job preferences, housing preferences, loan preferences, etc. are based on "them" supporting each other. It just isn't talked about as much as blacks who support each other. Gee, I wonder why.

The cold hard truth of the matter is that people of all ethnicities support people just because they happen to belong to the same ethnic group. Yes, white people do this, too. In fact, they were known for doing so long before this was even an issue. So why the complaining now?

Two wrongs don't make a right, but one has to realize that there are indeed TWO wrongs at hand here. In other words, this isn't just a "black" thing.

The point is Oprah has not ever supported a candidate, if she was supporting Obama due to his political views that would be fine but if she' doing it solely due to race, then it is just as racist as me voting against him based solely on race. The same goes for the school, I'm fully behind educating all children and believe that all children need a much better education and facilities than they have, but to limit opportunities to one "race" is well, racist.

The point is we are all humans and that "race" means absolutely nothing in a biological sense. We should move beyond these petty differences and support each other as humans rather than trying to reinforce the distinctions.

THIS IS THE ONLY ANWSER THAT MATTERS READ IT

Facts:
Wow this is a sensitive issue, first id like to say that oprah did open a school for all blacks and only for girls in AFRICA that's illegal in the us and is call discrimination of the racial variety. Have any of you stopped drinking from the river of the mainstream news media and done your own research of who she's silently endorsed "given money to" in the past.

Opinions:
I think it would be very hard for us to effect anything by being racist which makes it a moot gesture, not saying that there aren't idiots who wouldn't try it's just not going to help anyone
and most black racist aren't trying to annihilate any other race it's just ignorace in what they allow them selves to say and feel about other people "very complicated and hard to explain"

Why do white people have a problem with blacks supporting each other?

The person who said that is a racist. Black people cannot do anything without someone throwing in the race card and this is why Blacks can never get past the race issue.

In a perfect world, Oprah would be supporting Obama because she believes in him and wants to show her support (I don't agree with her using her influence in this way but it is her choice to do so.).

I think a lot of people have a problem with "reverse racism". I don't have a problem with Oprah supporting Obama, she is entitled to support whatever political figure she wants to, and that's fine. What I do have a problem with is opening up an "all black" school. If someone were to open an all-white school, that would be a RACIST act and not allowed, but the reverse is seen as 'okay'. It's a double-standard that isn't right - if you're going to open up an elite, high-end school in a black NEIGHBORHOOD that is fine, but to say that only black children can attend is racist.

i dont really care that she opened a school like that. the way i look at it she is helping to educate the youth of America. we need smart people in the future and the only way to get them is through school. so i support it. just like i would support a school for white, or indians, or whatever. i dont think she is racist or anything. so just tell whoever that there jealous they cant go.

If I said I wanted to vote for someone because they are white would you have a problem with that? I bet you would.

If I opened a school for white people would you have a problem with that? I bet you would.

Color should only count when lining up for free sunscreen. The people with less pigment have more of a risk of getting burned so they need the sunscreen more.

i think there is nothing wrong with Oprah and Obama giving back to the black community...i think maybe because some white people are afraid that if black people become bosses and start owning a bunch of companies and stuff that they will only hire their own, and other minorities resulting in whites with less job opportunities...

There is no problem with blacks supporting other blacks unless it is because of their skin color. Whens the last time you heard a white running mate make mention of the fact that his political partner is white? NEVER. Black people cannot partner with other blacks in politics because their skin colors are alike. You're supposed to support political figures based solely on their ability and campaign.

I feel there was more of an outcry towards the female population. My best guess women were more angry at Oprah for not supporting a female candidate, and choosing what they feel "Race over Gender".
