I believe that the tiger is not to blame. I have worked at the zoo for five years before that went many times to the zoo as a small child. There has not been any case of an escaped animal mauling someone in all those years. Something pissed the tiger off to make her go crazy. So no the animal did not deserve to die. What a wasted life of an endangered species. POOR TIGER!.

It is pretty clear that there was taunting and teasing involved here. I really have a problem with saying that the guy deserved death though. Yes, what he did was moronic and irresponsible, and should be illegal in my opinion, but that doesnt mean he deserved what he got. The zoo may be to blame here also, where were the zoo personnel that should be keeping an eye on the animals and guests? They should have been kicked out immediately for bothering the tiger. Seems that this happened around zoo closing hours so the staff didnt have a whole lot of people to keep an eye on.
It's unfortunate that the tiger had to die but when an animal has just killed someone and is in the act of mauling others, i really dont see another choice here. Not shooting the tiger immediately could have resulted in more deaths/injuries. Tranquilizing it might take minutes to take effect on the tiger.

Well I'm not the biggest animal person but I do think the tiger deserved to die because he killed someone else. he killed perhaps a father, a brother, a son, a nephew, a friend to some family. And then again maybe they were asking for it and got more than just a little fun out of it. I don't know if they were tormenting (I doubt that maybe teasing a little) the tiger or not only God knows that.

They might have taunted the animal, but I don't think they tormented it. They may also have tried to let it out and were a little more successful than they expected they would be. I don't think they deserved to die for taunting a tiger, but they certainly got what they asked for.
