i suggest ipod, you can get a lot of accessoris and a ton of different types of speakers etc.I find that there is a deal for Apple 30GB iPod U2 Special Edition.. is $179.. It is cool.

Ipod is easier to access music and itunes is easier to use. If music is your main purpose then go for the ipod.
For video use, archos blows them both away.

ipod is best. zone can be a fun toy for teenagers.
