Well, i would recommend a female doctor, especially if its your first time. They have seen it all before, and they know how uncomfortable it will be for you. Just relax, take a shower before you go, and do some trimming. Not to long, but not to short either. Shave your legs right to the top, and use lots of cream, to make sure you don't get a razor rash. Relax, it will be over before you know.
Good luck hon.

Really the only thing you need to do is take a shower. And relax! It's really not that bad. I'm personally more comfortable with a woman, but I have been to a man doctor and there's not really much difference, just a matter of preference, and finding the right doctor for you.

I have always been more comfortable with a woman doctor, they understand the female body better than a man. A shower before is a must, but nothing else special needs to be done.

If you don't even know that this type of physician is referred to as a gynecologist, then you're probably not even old enough to go.

With that being said, they (gynos) have seen it all and you're no different than anyone else. I would recommend a female for your doctor since you seem on the immature side and probably are squeamish.

Take a shower and trim it up if you're really hairy, but otherwise, nothing to prepare for. You don't even need to trim really, it's just what I do.

imy gyno is a woman.i had the same lady for over a year.she was out of town and i HAD to go in.I ended up having to make an appt. with an asian man.Not only did i feel weird bout having to c a man but i couldn't understand him.he had poor english.when i got in there and had to spread em' I didn't feel weird at all.I knew that I'd ever see him again. It was fine...But maybe for your first time it should be a woman.whatever your more comfortable around in general. But i have to agree men are more by the book then woman.

well hope this helps you.

its a little less embarassing having a guy for a doc. a girl has one of her own and you might feel like she is critizising it.
but a male dr has seen too many to think that urs it ugly or whatever.

i had a male doc and its even easier to ask questions. i felt kinda dumb asking a woman dr.
but then again it depends on the dr itself.

if he/she is good at what they do and how they do it.
and most drs are understanding, but they will tell you, 'ive seen it all, or ive seen worse'

so at the end it doesnt really matter.

just think about how many other woman he/she's seen and well you know the saying 'theres always some one worse than you' jaja..

hope it helps.

My god do you ppl ask these questions while intoxicated or half asleep? Your question is hard to read. If you're really worried, go to a woman. I have a male doc just b/c i'd feel weird w/ a woman, but to each his own....Just take a shower beforehand & clean well. That's really it. I also recommend shaving but that's just me. And relax, that's all you can do. It's not thattt bad.

I know my first doctor was a man - and he was talking to me about woman stuff and being pregnant and it was just totally wrong and weird.

I have never gone to another man doctor again if it is concerning female issues.

No man can tell me what it feels like to have a vagina or be pregnant! lol No matter how good a doctor he is.

Go with a woman - you will be more comfortable too.

honestly every one believes differntly and to some it dont matter some females like a female bc she can understand better where you are coming from but others feel creeped out by a woman touching her even though its profesional. if you are young then i think you should try a women first bc i am sure its hard enough talking about your body never mind talking to a guy about it . i no it took until my 20s to tell the dr every thing that was going on

My first time, I shaved the tops of my legs and ended up with an embarrassing razor rash. Just shower, do a little trimming (get it all less than an inch long) and breath. Concentrate on the ceiling and when he/she says 'relax' imagine you're floating in a pool and relax. Trust me- they've seen it all before.
