JAMES ROB (BOB) WILLS: Although he did not move to Turkey, Texas until he was in his 20s, James Rob (Bob) Wills, the King of Western Swing, was living there at the time that he began to make a living as a fiddler/ band leader. It was he who designated Turkey, Texas as his "home town."

Bob Wills was reared on a farm just north of the town. and they have a museum for him.
