why is that? how can i boost my memory?

Write it down. Don't quote me on the numbers, but on average, people retain only 20-30% of what the read or hear, but 60-70% of what they write down.
Also, taking notes, (in your own words, not just copying verbatim) aids in comprehension. If you internalize what you read, and then attempt to explain in you own words, you will find it much easier to remember the information.

You should rejoice that you have been blessed with the power to forget.If you had a very sharp memory, you would lead a miserable life.Suppose a person has been harsh or rude to you,and becomes your friend later, had you a sharp memory, you will immediately recall entire good and harsh treatment from him, the moment you see him. For our mental happiness and peace of mind, we have got to forget many things.
Your mind must be remembering such information which are useful to you and forgetting the trash. I suggest you may never try to boost your memory.

I keep a small notebook with me. Anything I want to remember, I write down.
