In the library is the cover is all ripped up then I figure the book must have been good for a lot of people to read...So I'll give it a try.
In the book store where the books are new I usually will look at the cover but will read Title, Author, Summary, and Reviews if that's judging a book by it's cover than YES I do.
Although, I will open almost to center and read 5 paragraphs and if it's interesting then I'll buy it. If it's boaring then it's not a good book for me.

Yes. Nowadays people are just too busy to care every single detail. The world is evolving so fast that we need to keep pace at all time. We don't want to know more of a person whose first impression sucked. We don't want to buy a CD which does not sound good in the first listen. We don't want to read a magazine with the celebrity on the cover that we barely know. It's bad, I know, and we try not to judge a book by its cover, only ideally. But reality does not allow us to do that because time is limited in one's life.

No I definately dont becuase I think that you should always read beyond the table of contents or the back cover to know what the books really about. Just like with people you can really get to know a person and find alot of awesome friends if you see beyond their looks or the colors of their skin

Yes. Most books with good covers are good books. Also, it's better to read the dust cover because there are plenty of books with bad covers that are excellent books.

Literally? YES- if a book looks boring, I have a lot of trouble giving it the time of day. the cover has to look interesting.
Figuratively? NOT ALL THE TIME- of course if I see a really scary looking person, dressed in all black with pale white skin, and drawn on eyebrows, etc, I am automatically going to assume the person is gothic.

No, but I do like to buy the editions with the covers I like best. Now figuratively, I try my very best to never do that. People are far too complex to type cast. Though none of us have the time to get to know everyone in this world so the tendency to type cast will always be there. It's part of human nature. It's part of the way we cope with the world.

I try to read at least ten pages... if it hasn't gotten me caught up into it. I like the books you can't put down until you are done.
Now if you mean judging people by their outside appearance, not all that's shiny and new... has good intentions, and sometimes the best personalities are found in generic wrap.
Meaning please don't judge anyone until you get to know them.

No, by the time I'm ready to leave the bookstore, I've probably read about 50 pages of the book I'm going to buy. I get addicted if I find a good book.
