Going to college is really freaking me out. I don't want to move away from home, but have to in order to go to the college that I have been wanting to attend for years. Please tell me what it is like living in the dorms, and college campus life. Is it cool, stupid, nerve racking, ect.?

Everyone is nervous about going away from home for the first time. You will have good company in that respect. College is a wonderful time to grow. I kept a journal that helped me when I felt alone. That's not too often, though. It's so exciting to meet all kinds of people. Keep an open mind! You will meet people from everywhere from all kinds of backgrounds-that's the best part! Relax, enjoy and live every moment to the fullest!

Moving away from home can be a big deal to some. Just remember that you can still call home whenever you want. College is a stepping stone in your life that you can either regret or accept and enjoy. Personally it can be a lot of new experiences thrown in your face all at once but it is worth it. Try to take in as much of the campus life you can. You will learn a lot about dorm life early on weather you like it or not. Everyones different. Do not worry.

Dorms are really nice. You get to live with your friends. Your building mates become your family. They are the closest thing you have on campus because its actually pretty lonely. However, you really need to be stern with your time mangament. You can't always play. Make sure you focus and actually go to class and do homework.
I was lonely when i first went to college. But i have a webcam and its the only way to be able to see and talk to my parents when i want to.

Everyone is at first. You will be fine and it will end up being the best time of your life. Just remember that there are plenty of other people feeling the same way you are. And, college is not at all like High School and the key to having a good time is to be really friendly and make tons of friends! Good Luck! ( Remember to smile, people are always attracted to people who SMILE)!
