In our experience servicing Kenmore, they need at least a 3/4 inch diameter hose to properly drain. Those pumps that are in a Kenmore will not develope sufficient pressure against the resistance of 1/2 or 5/8 hose.

Try a 3/4 inch hose purchased at an auto parts supply store such as NAPA or Autozone, Let it dump into an empty 5 gallon pail on a trial run. Then make sure you have a large size fitting in the sink drain when you finish hooking up as the final stage .

This is a common way to fix dishwashers that will not drain all the way.

There's most likely something in the drain screen in the bottom of the wash tub. Whenever something breaks or falls out of one of the trays, it winds up in the bottom, if it gets down into the screen, it has to be removed or it can wind up plugging up the drain hole there. If it's small pieces of plastic or glass, sometimes it gets down into the impellar portion of the motor and blocks it from turning. Probably should check that area well.

The drain hose won't have the right loop in it and subsequently water is purely sitting there as water seeks its very own point. additionally attempt filling up the sink with water and then letting it down (heat water is positive) and notice in case you have an honest vortex this permit you to understand if the drain is clean or desires to be water Jetted
